ON Semiconductor has launched a new PureEdgeâ„¢ family of a silicon based voltage controlled crystal oscillator (VCXOs). This new series is ideal for providing low jitter and a stable reference clock in designs for products in networking, SONET, 10 gigabit Ethernet, base stations and broadcasting equipment.
Features and USP: The devices are designed to meet the requirements of 2.5 V and 3.3 V low voltage positive emitter coupled logic (LVPECL) clock generation applications offering a low jitter (0.5 ps) reference clock. The ability to power the devices with either a 2.5 V or 3.3 V supply enables design flexibility and simplifies the product bill of materials driving further system cost reduction which leads to cost reduction. These oscillators offer a tri-state enable/disable feature, allowing the user to turn the output on and off across the entire industrial temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.
The devices are packaged in a hermetically sealed 5.0 mm x 7.0 mm x 1.9 mm ceramic CLCC-6 SMD casing and are priced at US$ 6.50 per unit for quantities of 1,000 units.
