Micromax Canvas 3 Android-based Smart TV Launches in India

Micromax Canvas 3 costs Rs 13,999 for 32-inch TV whereas the 40-inch TV model is priced at Rs 19,999 on Flipkart

Micromax announced the Canvas 3 which is an Android-based Smart TV in the Indian market. This Smart TV allows media sharing and wireless smartphone control and is available to purchase on Flipkart. 

Targeting consumers in the urban centres, who are willing to upgrade to an integrated smarter home entertainment experience, the company claims to capture a market share of 12 per cent in the television segment by FY 17 with the new launch.

The Smart TV range will be exclusively available on Flipkart in 32 inch, 40 inch and 50 inch, priced reasonably at Rs. 19,999, 29,999 and 42,999 respectively. Micromax will leverage its existing network of over 300+ service centres for the new range.

Smart TV has its own app store

It has its own app store called Aptoide to let users discover apps they might want to download. It allows for wireless smartphone control to play mobile games onto the big screen. This one runs on a quad-core processor and let users connect their Apple devices using Airplay. 

This smart TV boasts an HD ready screen featuring 1,366 x 768 pixels resolution. It runs Android OS and supports a wide variety of apps. It allow users to surf the web, check emails, download apps and much more. It packs 1GB RAM and 5.5GB storage. As for connectivity, Micromax Canvas 3 provides users with 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports.

Commenting on the launch, Mr Rohan Agarwal, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Micromax Informatics said, “The world of television is constantly changing, with more choices and more connected devices than ever before. We have witnessed a growing trend among the consumers to look for seamless transition between multiple connected screens in their everyday lives. Hence, we are revolutionising the home entertainment experience with launch of our first Micromax Canvas Smart LED Television range for the people to discover SHARPER and SMARTER cinematic and connected experience.”
