Tuesday, September 10, 2013: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is all geared up to enter the Middle East and North Africa region (Mena) with the help of Tosh group. The two have joined hands to launch BEL’s products in the Mena region. The information was revealed by its top official.
The Tosh group is a Dubai-based diversified business conglomerate, which handles a variety of products including the textiles, home appliances and mining equipment among others. The group has won the sole distribution rights for BEL products in the Mena region.
Mano Ramchandani, chairman, Tosh Group, informed that there is a strong demand for BEL products in the region. According to a Khaleej Times report, he said, “The Mena is growing rapidly despite unrest in some parts of the region. We see strong growth prospects in most countries of the region that will help generate demand for wide range of BEL’s products.”
The Tosh group represents a public sector unit partly-owned by the Indian government, Bharat Earth Movers Limited, or BEML, where it has seen success. He said, “We achieved outstanding result for BEML in this region and [we] would like to replicate the same success story for BEL.” Since the region is investing heavily in development and infrastructure projects, Ramchandani sees high growth prospects for BEL’s products. He reportedly said, “Over the next 10 years government spending on infrastructure looks promising and with the wide range of the BEL brand, we can offer a lot of products, systems and solutions to our target clients.”
