These drones are laced with customised features for the war-hit nation

In order to serve soldiers and civilians with urgent medical aid in hard-to-reach and remote locations of Ukraine, Drone and AI systems maker Draganfly Inc. has sent its next-generation Medical Response Drones to the war-torn country. It has been learnt that these Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are laced with custom features—an automatic payload-drop function that uses proximity sensors to release cargo from a certain height, an expanded communication range and improved first-person viewing capabilities to facilitate day/night operations— for Ukraine service.

The healthcare supply-chain firm Coldchain Delivery Systems LLC has been deploying medical-response drones in Ukraine via the nonprofit Revived Soldiers Ukraine (RSU). Founded in 2015, Florida-based RSU works to bring medical and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Praising how Draganfly’s Medical Response Drones are helping to access hotspots in Ukraine, RSU President Iryna Vashchuk Discipio said, “Draganfly’s ability to provide high-tech solutions is crucial in providing timely and safe medical supplies to communities affected in this crisis.”

Saskatchewan-based Draganfly started off in 1998 and has since been manufacturing drones for various companies and government agencies. It is interesting to note that it is a publicly-traded company, and its employees also work on U.S. military assets including the Scan Eagle and Predator II UAVs.

Excited to provide these next-gen Drones, President and CEO of Draganfly, Cameron Chell said, “We have seen first-hand how delivering critical medical supplies and equipment in hard-hit areas of the country makes a difference in their ongoing efforts during this conflict.”
