12 start-ups showcase products & solutions at Second Intel India Maker Lab

A total of 12 startups across AI, IoT, and VR showcased at the second edition of Intel India Maker Lab: Start-up Conclave and Demo Day at the Bengaluru campus.

“Intel India has been at the forefront of amplifying hardware and systems innovation & entrepreneurship in India. It’s tremendously gratifying to see these startups from the second batch of Intel India Maker Lab showcasing exciting products and solutions that are relevant for the society,” said Jitendra Chaddah, Senior Director, Strategic Development & Operations, Intel India to ET.

Plugin, is a collaborative incubation program between Intel India, Society for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (SINE), IIT-Bombay, and Department of Science & Technology (DST).

As part of it, selected startups can leverage the incubation facilities and mentoring resources at Intel India Maker Lab and others to develop products in the areas of transportation, smart home, industrial automation, healthcare, and entertainment across key technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR).

Out of these 12 startups, four have market-ready products, five have completed product development and three have proof-of-concepts ready. “The collaboration with DST and SINE, IIT-Bombay in this journey has been hugely enriching and I am confident these experiences will help us enable more such success stories,” Chaddah added.

Since its inception in January 2016, the Intel India Maker Lab, an incubation program for hardware and systems startups in India, has supported 50+ startups by offering infrastructure, technology, and mentorship support for their products in the areas of education, sports, health, agriculture, BFSI, and e-governance, across IoT, AI, cloud, and client compute.
