In October 2011, C&K Components enhanced its KMT 0X2 series of miniature tactile switches to provide an operating life of one million cycles. The KMT 0X2 series’ extended operating life is appropriate for mobile electronic device applications that require a longer lifetime for more frequently-used buttons such as Home and for gaming keys.
Features and USP: The KMT 0X2 series is fully functional under water for a minimum of five hours at a depth of 2 m. In addition, it is fully resistant to the most stringent conformal polymer coatings, including one of the smallest particle chemical vapours, parylene, which is used to coat printed circuit boards (PCBs) and medical devices. The RoHS compliant and halogen free ultra miniature KMT 0X2 switches feature a footprint of only 3.6 mm x 2.6 mm with a height of 0.65 mm, including the actuator. It has an integrated actuator that allows for simpler button design, while yielding an excellent tactile ratio, minimum of 30 per cent, providing sharp feedback.
