Digital signs using LEDs are now a major force in signage markets such as channel letters, message reader boards, and large-format video-screen displays. LED sign boards can be created in a myriad of designs, colours, finishes and sizes, using various LED signage systems available in the market. These are used for illuminated indoor and outdoor advertising. Following are a few new products in the market.

Launched in November 2012, SpellBrite signage system is a solution to the problems faced by neon signs, like high costs, maintenance issues and the safety hazards associated with high voltage glass neon products. SpellBrite consists of illuminated letters, numbers and symbols that can be clicked together to create any name or message.

Launched in November 2012 by International Light Technologies (ILT), this LED edge lighting product uses Evonik Cyro’s Acrylite LED for edge lighting acrylic sheet material.
Ultra-thin sign panel lighting is created using the Acrylite LED illuminated with ILT LED edge lighting strips placed at the edges of the sheet. The acrylic material then glows uniformly across its two perpendicular surfaces. The special light-diffusing particles inside the acrylic extract the light uniformly through the sheet and direct it toward the viewer.
