4G LTE module series
In August 2013, U-Blox launched the TOBY-L1 4G LTE module series. Its key features include LTE Cat 3, 100 MBps download speeds, 50 MBps upload speeds, easy migration from the U-Blox UMTS, CDMA and GSM modules, a nested design concept, and an extended temperature range of -40 to +85°C. The series is optimally suited for industrial (M2M) applications such as remote access to video cameras, digital signage, tele-health functions, vehicle infotainment systems, and security and surveillance systems. It is fully certified for Verizon and European networks; USB drivers and RIL software for Android are available free of charge.

Zero-drift operational amplifier
In August 2013, Linear Technology introduced the LTC2057HV, a zero-drift amplifier featuring self-calibrating circuitry that provides high DC precision and stability over changes in temperature, time, input range and supply voltage. With 5µV input offset voltage, 0.025µV/°C offset drift and 220nVP-P low frequency noise with no 1/f noise, the LTC2057HV offers a dynamic range of more than 140dB while operating on 60V (±30V) supply. This wide dynamic range enables tiny signals to be amplified in the presence of much larger signals without saturating the amplifier or losing precision.

USB port power controllers
In August 2013, Microchip Technology Inc. launched the UCS100X family of USB port power controllers. These new power controllers offer advanced USB-based charging capabilities while designing host devices, such as laptops, tablets, monitors, docking stations and printers; as well as dedicated AC-DC power supply and charging products, such as wall adaptors. These new controllers offer higher current and priority charging for smartphones and tablets. The UCS100X family has also added support for active cables, such as the Apple Lightning connector, along with 12W charging.

Thin-film chip resistor arrays
In August 2013, Vishay Intertechnology Inc. enhanced its ACAS 0612 precision thin-film chip resistor arrays with tighter absolute TCR down to ± 10 ppm/K, relative TCR down to ± 5 ppm/K, and relative tolerance down to ± 0.05 per cent for automotive, industrial and telecommunications applications. Built on an advanced thin-film technology, the Beyschlag ACAS 0612 precision resistor array is ideally suited for precision analogue circuits, voltage dividers, feedback circuits, and signal conditioning applications that require extraordinarily stable fixed resistance ratios.
