  • Motorcycle enthusiasts can secure pre-reservations for these electric motorcycles, with an official launch expected by the end of 2024.
  • The Indian Grand Prix is all set to host its inaugural MotoGP event at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) from September 22 to 24, 2023, following modifications to meet the stringent requirements of MotoGP racing.

In a recent report, Ola devised plans to unveil its electric superbike concept, “Diamondhead,” at the highly anticipated MotoGP event. Diamondhead is the crown jewel among the four innovative electric two-wheelers Ola introduced on August 15, 2023.

The Diamondhead’s design pushes the boundaries of futuristic aesthetics, drawing inspiration from the realms of science fiction. A striking, diamond-shaped panel at its forefront encases an illuminated strip, with the actual headlamp nestled beneath, creating a mesmerizing semi-faired motorcycle look. This new concept bike has dual disc brakes for maximum stopping power and showcases a covered rear wheel for enhanced aerodynamic efficiency. Also, the front suspension takes a daring departure from convention, tilting nearly parallel to the ground.

It has been anticipated that Diamondhead could potentially surpass the power output of the Ultraviolette F77, which currently stands as one of the most formidable electric motorcycles in the Indian market. Such a leap in performance may position Diamondhead at a higher price point, solidifying its role as the flagship product within Ola Electric’s impressive lineup.

The MotoGP event marks its grand debut on Indian soil, scheduled at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) from September 22 to 24, 2023. The BIC, renowned for hosting Formula 1 races over three consecutive years, has undergone significant modifications to meet the rigorous standards for accommodating MotoGP racing. As the countdown to the event accelerates, preparations are in full swing, with essential equipment such as safety cars and bikes converging on the track.

During its initial unveiling at Ola’s August event, Diamondhead was joined by three equally innovative concept siblings: Cruiser, Adventure, and Roadster, each catering to its specific motorcycle segment. Motorcycle enthusiasts can already secure pre-reservations for these electrifying machines, and it is anticipated that they will make their official debut by the close of 2024.
