“At Philips we always strive to offer next generation smart products and solutions to our consumers. With a promising product portfolio for LED lighting, we now want to fill in the awareness and experience gap that exists in the minds of the lighting professionals and users. At LightNEXT, we have brought alive numerous possibilities of LED lighting that will change the way users think about lighting,” said Nirupam Sahay, President, Philips Lighting India. “Today we are proud to present a broad array of more than 10 new LED lighting solutions designed to create inspiring ambiences both in buildings and outdoors while reducing energy consumption and operational costs.”

LEDs are currently a major contributor in the growth of Indian lighting industry, rising at a CAGR (computed annual growth rate) of 45.53%. Philips with its award-winning portfolio of LED solutions is attempting to steer this very growth to the next level. “With LightNEXT we hope to promote the LED lighting space in India wherein people understand and adopt the technology for their homes, offices, streets, shopping spaces, etc.,” added Nirupam Sahay.

A full switch to the latest LED lighting would provide energy savings of up to 80% in many applications, and an average of 40% for all lighting. LED technology also offers unprecedented possibilities to digitally control light, to create intelligent and dazzling light experiences. LED lighting combined with smart adaptive controls not only sets the ambience right with options to manage brightness and light colour but also adds on to the atmosphere by maintaining the apt thermal comfort in rooms, reducing light pollution in outdoor applications.

The area inside LightNEXT has been divided into dedicated zones for ‘Retail’, ‘Office’, ‘Green zone’, ‘Home’, ‘Hospitality’ and ‘Outdoor’, which allow the consumer/customer to understand how the integrated lighting solution works in a given setting. Specialised LEDs for retail segment protects the merchandise on display from fading/ wearing off as they do not emit UV rays or heat. The office zone gives a complete understanding of Day Light Harvesting and how the LED responds to the light levels in the space, hence demonstrating the maximum utilization of daylight and the home area allows experiencing the different lighting options to create personalized spaces and ambience for different occasions.
