Mr. Manoj Raghavan, the CEO and MD of TATA Elxsi, who shared his insights during the signing ceremony, highlighted the pivotal role this partnership could play. While Kerala is experiencing an upsurge in EV adoption—with 10% of registered vehicles falling within this category—challenges persist. These challenges include electricity shortages, high EV costs, and the issue of charging infrastructure. With an air of assurance, Raghavan expressed his belief that the collaboration would serve as a bulwark against these hurdles, driving the industry forward.

In the words of Mr. Raghavan, ‘Institutes like NIT Calicut possess the potential to embark on mid-term EV projects that birth game-changing innovations.’ His sentiments underscore the symbiotic nature of this partnership, wherein NITC becomes a hub of innovative ideas and TATA Elxsi reaps the benefits of these transformative insights.

TATA Elxsi’s footprint extends beyond EVs, encompassing healthcare, communications, software, and more. With the success of this initiative, the door opens wider for future collaborations that harness the prowess of NITC and TATA Elxsi across diverse domains.

The leaders at NITC, including Prof. Priya Chandran and Mr. Shaju S, Vice President and Head of the Transportation Business Unit at TATA Elxsi, share the conviction that this collaboration goes beyond a singular venture. It serves as a rallying point for a broader range of collaborations, fostering a profound and enduring impact on society.
