India is the fastest growing economy for electronics in the world. It has huge potential to expand and develop Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sector to meet our domestic demand as well as to use the capabilities so created to successfully exports ESDM products from the country, says Times of India report
These views were exchanged by experts during one day national workshop on ESDM organised by Indian Institution of Information Technology, Allahabad with the support of Department of IT (DIT), Ministry of Communications and IT, New Delhi, Government of India at Jhalwa campus.
Prof R C Tripathi, convener said that the country is a recognised as a global player in software and software services sector. The vision is to transform India into a global hub for electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) so as to meet the growing domestic and global demand.
Prof GC Nandi of IIIT-A indicated on increasing role of electronics especially in the field of information technology. As a result now we have started working on design and manufacturing of electronics system in the country but lots are yet to be done by us considering the leap and bound progress being made by China in recent years .
Tnn Prof M Radhakrishna,Head of Electronics Department,IIITA laid stress on support creation of capacities within academic institutions to enhance the production of adequate number of PhDs and post-graduates for supporting the growth of chip design and embedded software and board/hardware design industry in the country.
