New technology in LED measurement
Automated optical inspection (AOI) specialist PlatiScan exhibited an interesting new technology that can rapidly and accurately measure the brightness and colour of LEDs during Productronica. One of the products the company is presenting is the PlatiScan LED Check, an AOI system that uses software modeled on the human approach to manual visual inspection. A large number of LEDs can be tested in a very short time due to special algorithms.
Special show on battery manufacturing and power electronics
As a central theme of the Productronica 2011, a special show ‘Battery Manufacturing and Power Electronics’ was held at the trade fair. At the innovation forum, the show examined and discussed in detail every production process step to produce a battery cell—from coating of the electrode material to the finished module. It showed how new technologies can maximise battery performance work in mass production, which can be done in a breathtaking speed with cost-effective manufacturing techniques.
NI introduces six new PXI products
National Instruments introduced six new PXI products, including a real time embedded PXI Express controller, expansion modules for PXI Express systems, and data storage solutions for data streaming with rapid mass storage devices. The new PXI modules are an addition to 40 new NI PXI products already introduced this year. Using a W-CDMA test station, the PXI measurement solutions can achieve significant throughput gains over traditional box test stations.
Agilent adds wireless multi-measurement capability
Agilent Technologies has added a multi-measurement capability to its 89600 VSA software, allowing the simultaneous signal analysis of multiple carriers and signal formats for more efficient testing and deeper signal insight in wireless test. The multi-measurement capability will be available in February 2012 as a standard feature of Agilent’s 89600 VSA software. “By adding multi-measurement capability to our 89600 VSA software, which supports a wide variety of Agilent instruments, we will be providing the industry’s most flexible multi-measurement solution, which will help engineers to see through the complexity in their wireless designs,” said Guy Sene, VP and GM, microwave and communications division, Agilent.
