Tuesday, November 26, 2013: Axis Communications, which is the Swedish security solutions company will be launching its new range of network video products in India. This will push the domestic video surveillance market, which is predicted to grow at a faster pace.
The surveillance market is fast growing from analog to digital cameras. Axis has presence in 70 countries and will be rolling out its latest products from its global portfolio in the Indian market.
At present, the company has on offer 84 different models, with prices ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,00,000 per camera.

Dual-lens camera
The company will be rolling out dual-lens camera with optical and thermal modes. “This camera runs on optical mode during day time and during night time, it goes thermal. It can capture images just with the body heat (of any intruder) and is best suited for perimeter surveillance such as port facilities,” Sudhindra Holla, country manager- India, told Business Line.
Talking about another offering, Holla said, “This camera can operate in climate ranging from minus 40 degree C and 60 degree C, costing Rs 10,00,000. It is ideal for the defence and highway sectors.”
Video surveillance market
The company has presence in the growing network video market that encompasses IP cameras, video encoders, network video recorder and video management software, has a share of about $75 million. “This space, where we are present, is estimated to grow to $ 223 million by 2016,” Holla added.
