The brand is also gearing up to launch its second Experience Centre in Kathmandu in the upcoming weeks.

Ather Energy has inaugurated its inaugural international Experience Centre, ‘Ather Space,’ in Naxal, Kathmandu, in collaboration with Vaidya Energy, part of VOITH. Following its announcement to enter the Nepalese market, Ather has seen an overwhelming response for its Ather 450X model in Kathmandu. A second Experience Centre is set to open shortly to broaden Ather’s footprint in the city, with plans to establish a total of 10 outlets across seven cities.

Vaidya Energy will manage sales and services for Ather in Nepal and lead the setup of Ather Grid charging stations nationwide. Ather is positioning the 450X as a cleaner alternative to traditional petrol scooters in Nepal.

Ravneet Phokela, Ather’s Chief Business Officer, compares the emerging electric two-wheeler market in Nepal to the Indian market several years ago, predicting a surge in demand for high-performance electric vehicles (EVs). Suryansh Vaidya, CEO of Vaidya Energy, describes the Ather Experience Centre as a nexus for innovation and sustainable electric mobility, acknowledging the collaborative efforts with Ather India in establishing the centre.

In the Indian market, Ather Energy ranks third after Ola Electric and TVS Motor Co., with 88,390 units sold in the first ten months of CY2023, capturing a 13% share of India’s electric two-wheeler market.
