Tarun Mehta, CEO of Ather Energy, announced that their new scooter will be bigger and more comfortable than the existing 450 series. He also stated that this scooter will be affordable and the introductory model in their range.
Ather Energy is gearing up to launch a new family scooter in early 2024. Tarun Mehta, the company’s CEO, has confirmed that this upcoming scooter will be more spacious and comfortable than the current 450 series and will also be the most affordable model in their lineup.
Furthermore, Mehta revealed plans to update the 450 series around the same time next year, aiming to preserve its clean, sharp, and minimalistic design while boosting performance. He emphasized that the 2024 Ather 450 range will deliver unparalleled refined performance with top-tier features, albeit at a higher price.
Mehta announced on his official social media that he expressed confidence in the new iteration’s ability to redefine the riding experience with its superior features despite the premium cost.
The existing Ather 450 comes in the 450S and 450X versions. The 450X, equipped with a larger 3.7 kWh battery, boasts a 150 km range on a single charge, and both models have a top speed of 90 kmph. The 450S starts at INR 1.30 lakh, and the 450X is at INR 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom). With the upcoming family scooter and updates to the 450 series, Ather Energy is set to continue its legacy of offering innovative, high-performance electric two-wheelers.
