Mitsubishi Electric India which has sold 1,000 units of computerised numerical controllers (CNC) in India last year is planning to increase its sale by another 30 per cent considering the growth of the manufacturing sector in the country.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Takahide Yoneda, General Manager (CNC Systems, Factory Automation & Industrial Division), Mitsubishi Electric India said that the company is eyeing 30 per cent growth in the CNC segment in this year.

“CNC machines are numeric controllers which help in achieving precision. By the new CNC technical centre at Peenya, the lead time of supply to manufacturing companies will decrease since Mitsubishi Electric will maintain inventory of CNC machines, thus increasing response time which will be helpful for the manufacturing industry,” Yoneda added.

For Mitsubishi Electric south India accounts for 80 per cent of its market with Bengaluru itself having 60 per cent of share. The machine tool industry in the country has grown by 18 per cent and out of that 56 per cent machines are imported. The demand for local manufacturing is huge and Mitsubishi is planning to address this gap.
