3 kVA online UPS system

In November 2013, Volta Powerlink Pvt Ltd launched a 3 kVA online UPS system with 48V/72V or 96V DC. It comes with a power factor corrected system of ≥ 95 per cent and has an in-built isolation transformer. Its features include an overall efficiency of ≥ 92 per cent, a THD ≤ 3 per cent, regulation – 230 ± 1 per cent, output power factor of – 0.8, and digital display and LED indication. One of the most exciting features of the product (3 kVA – 48V/ 72V and 96V) is that it requires less battery back-up, and a 150Ah battery can be connected for longer backup. Hence, it saves users the cost of the battery and also requires less space.

Battery water topping kit

In October 2013, Su-Kam Power Systems launched a water-topping kit for batteries. The kit ensures equal electrolyte levels in all the cells through pressure valves that shut when the required level of the electrolyte is reached. It also has a clampless tube that is easy to install because it is highly flexible and manoeuvrable. Its de-gas chamber valve allows each cell to vent gases effectively. Gases leave the cell through the de-gas chamber, thus being separated from the incoming water. The kit allows water to be filled accurately in multiple cells with the help of one single point feeder tube. The batteries can be filled without having to remove the vent covers, which means there will be no battery acid burns, ruined clothing and noxious fumes.
