Insulation resistance testers
In September 2013, Megger launched its S1-series of insulation resistance testers that consist of a 5 kV model—the S1-568, and a 10 kV model—the S1-1068. These top-end instruments are made for power utilities and service companies working in the generation, transmission and distribution domains. Class leading charge current, noise rejection and software filters make Megger’s S1-series the most advanced DC insulation resistance testers to date, company sources claim. The series offers rapid charge batteries, and operation from an AC source when the battery is flat. Applications include cables, transformers, motors/generators, circuit breakers and bushings. Simplicity of operation is achieved with two rotary switches and a large backlight display, which enables multiple results to be viewed simultaneously.

Compact digital multimeters
In October 2013, Fluke India launched a range of compact digital multimeters. Their unique shape and form factor make them suitable for technicians and electricians who carry a DMM with them all the time. This new series consists of three new products: Fluke 101, Fluke 106 and Fluke 107. The Fluke 101 DMM is pocket-sized and can be easily carried in a shirt pocket. It is a CAT III, 600V tested DMM with AC/DC voltage, resistance and capacitance. It has the diode check, continuity check and duty cycle features. The Fluke 106 and Fluke 107 are palm-sized DMMs with AC/DC current measurement, besides other features like AC/DC voltage measurement, MV measurement, frequency, capacitance, duty cycle, diode check and continuity check.
