In January 2014, Agilent Technologies introduced the M8000 series BERT solution, which is highly integrated and scalable for physical-layer characterisation, validation and compliance testing for receivers used in multi-Gigabit digital designs. This new solution provides reliable results, which improve insights into the performance margins of high-speed digital devices in the computer, consumer, server, mobile computing and data centre domains. The product will enable R&D and test engineers to master next-generation receiver test challenges. The first model in the series is the J-BERT M8020A high-performance solution. It enables fast and accurate receiver characterisation of single and multi-lane devices operating at data rates up to 16 GBps and 32 GBps.
