Supreme Components Joins Hands With Genesic Semiconductor To Promote Silicon Carbide Technology In ASEAN, Pacific And Indian Markets

Supreme Components International (SCI) has announced its appointment as an authorised distributor for GeneSiC Semiconductor’s pioneering silicon carbide (SiC) products. GeneSiC Semiconductor is a US-based technology company focused on harnessing the power of SiC technology.

SCI is a franchised distributor of GeneSiC Semiconductor products including their SiC MOSFETs, SiC Schottky MPS, SiC Modules, SiC PiN diodes, and SiC Junction Transistors. It said that GeneSiC also holds leading patents on wide band gap power device technology. This market is primed to be valued at nearly $1 billion by end of 2022.

It said that Supreme realises the immense potential of their SiC MOSFETs with efficient bi-directional performance, low switching losses and reduced cooling requirements. These find applications in Traction, Pulsed power, Smart grid infrastructure and other medium-voltage power converters.

Competitive service to customers in ASEAN, Indian and Pacific markets

Vick Aggarwala, President and CEO, SCI had this to say about their franchise agreement with GeneSiC: “This partnership with GeneSiC is an exciting opportunity to drive forward this cutting edge SiC technology in the APAC and Indian markets”

GeneSiC said that its Schottky MPS Diodes are high voltage, high frequency, and reverse recovery-free diodes. It claimed that with high-temperature capabilities, they extensively improve circuit efficiency and reduce switching and reverse leakage current. Some common applications include Power Factor Correction (PFC), Switched-Mode Power Supply (SMPS), Solar inverters, Wind turbine inverters, Motor drives, Induction heating, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and High voltage multipliers.

With this appointment by GeneSiC, SCI strongly believes that they can provide competitive service to customers in ASEAN, Indian and Pacific markets. It said that SCI guarantees prompt services with utmost emphasis on quality. . Having a total of 12 offices, SCI is geographically advantaged in granting excellent access and service to customers across this region.
