Russian nuclear technology company Rosatom has launched RENERA, an energy storage company. RENERA will develop and sell module-type lithium-ion traction batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems for emergency power supply, renewable energy resources and smoothing load demand. RENERA is incorporated on the basis of Cathode Materials LLC, an enterprise of TVEL Fuel Company of ROSATOM.

Supply of lithium-ion energy storage devices

In terms of the current portfolio, it includes more than 120 ongoing and completed projects for the supply of lithium-ion energy storage devices. A number of contracts have been implemented for modernisation of logistics electric vehicles. It has also been used in equipping substation DC systems and uninterrupted power supply systems with lithium-ion energy storage devices.

TVEL Fuel Company of ROSATOM incorporates enterprises for the fabrication of nuclear fuel, conversion and enrichment of uranium, production of gas centrifuges. It also provides for research and design organisations. TVEL provides nuclear fuel for 73 power reactors in 13 countries. It provides research reactors in eight countries and transport reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet.
