  • The Long Range (LR) variant boasts an impressive 453-kilometer range (MIDC), setting new benchmarks for electric vehicle travel.
  • Tata Motors reaffirms its commitment to electric mobility, reshaping the future of sustainable transportation with the Nexon EV facelift.

Tata Motors is revving up for the Tata Nexon EV facelift launch, with deliveries scheduled to commence by the end of September. The automaker is gearing up for a September 14 launch event that promises to reshape the electric vehicle landscape.

As per the reports, Tata Nexon EV will receive major cosmetic updates, promising a fresh and modern look. More importantly, it has four core trims for the Nexon EV: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Fearless. These trims are expected to offer optional packages, distinguishable by a ‘+’ suffix. The Nexon EV, currently available in Prime and Max variants, is undergoing a significant transformation. Tata Motors is adopting a new naming strategy, dropping the suffixes in favour of a more streamlined approach. The revamped Nexon EV will be available in two main configurations: Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR), aligning with the existing Prime and Max variants.

In terms of features, the Nexon EV facelift promises to maintain parity with the Nexon, offering an identical equipment list. The top-of-the-line Nexon EV Long Range Fearless+ trim is expected to be fully loaded with amenities, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, touch-based climate controls, premium leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, and more.

While the Nexon EV facelift dazzles with cosmetic and feature upgrades, there won’t be any mechanical alterations. The Medium Range (MR) version will retain its 30.2kWh battery, boasting an ARAI-certified range of 312 kilometres. In contrast, the Long Range (LR) variant will offer a larger 40.5kWh battery, delivering an impressive range of 453 kilometres (MIDC). Furthermore, the LR variant will provide flexibility with two charging options: a 3.3kW or a 7.2kW AC charger. The MR and LR will continue to feature a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The MR variant will generate 129 horsepower and 245Nm of torque, while the LR variant will increase it with 143 horsepower and 250Nm of torque.

The Nexon EV facelift is set to go head-to-head with the recently updated Mahindra XUV400 EV, currently its sole direct rival in the segment. With many new features and a refreshed design, the facelifted Nexon EV is poised for a price increase, cementing its position as a formidable contender in the electric vehicle market.
