February 9, 2015: The US-based semiconductor company, Fairchild Semiconductor, has appointed Padmanabha Gowda as first country manager for Fairchild Semiconductor India. He will be based in Fairchild’s Bangalore office.
According to KN Kim, vice president – sales and application (Korea, India and South Asia Pacific), Fairchild Semiconductor, this was a move to encourage its business in India as the Indian government eyes ‘Make in India’ initiatives. These initiatives will up the electronics manufacturing, advanced power solutions for anything from LED lighting, UPS inverters, to automotive and industrial automation applications, which will in turn strengthen their channel.
Padmanabha Gowda has been a part of the semiconductor business for 23 years with expertise in sales, distribution and business development. He is a graduate from Mysore University with a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication.
He also holds experience in power electronics areas including renewable energy, UPS/inverter, automotive and home appliances.Â
