NTL Electronics Ltd is planning to set up a manufacturing base in partnership with Dutch company Lemis Lighting, reports Hindu Business Line.
“The new manufacturing facility will come up in North India by the end of the current financial year. This unit will be a joint venture initiative by the company with The Netherlands-based major Lemis Lighting aiming to sell the products in the domestic market,” Arun Gupta, managing director, NTL Electronics, said.
The company plans to invest about Rs 100 million in the new facility required to tap the opportunity in the country. “We plan to target the commercial establishment such as special economic zones, IT parks and for city lighting requirements. This is a big shift from the focus earlier on business to business supplies,” he said.
The company has been a supplier of lighting ballasts and LED lighting in India. But the focus had been on business to business supplies to customers such as Crompton Greaves, Philips, among others.
Gupta said that the company closed last financial year with total revenues of Rs 5.5 billion and is looking at sustaining the growth this year.
