The BIS certification confirms the fast charging capabilities of LTO batteries.

Log9 Materials, a company that specializes in battery solutions, has recently announced that its Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) batteries have been awarded certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This significant achievement indicates that Log9’s LTO batteries meet the rigorous safety and performance criteria established by the Indian regulatory authority.

This announcement is a noteworthy milestone in India’s pursuit of self-sufficiency in energy storage. The certification is a testament to Log9’s ability to produce high-capacity lithium-ion battery cells and underscores their dedication to meeting strict safety and performance standards.

The LTO batteries from Log9 are distinguished by their enhanced safety features, owing to their inherent thermal and chemical stability, which reduces the risk of fires or explosions compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. Furthermore, these batteries are renowned for their ultra-fast charging capabilities and increased longevity, offering a substantially higher number of charge and discharge cycles compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. This translates into a longer lifespan for electric vehicles. LTO batteries find applications in various sectors, including electric vehicles (EVs), two-wheeler and three-wheeler EVs, commercial vehicles, and energy storage systems.

Dr Akshay Singhal, Co-Founder & CEO of Log9 Materials, expressed the company’s achievement as an important national milestone in India’s journey towards self-reliance in energy storage, highlighting Log9’s validation for its capabilities to develop and process large-capacity lithium-ion battery cells.

Pankaj Sharma, Co-Founder & Director of Log9 Materials, shared their excitement about a significant milestone in advancing cell technology based on LTO chemistry. He noted that Log9 stands as the only company in India capable of delivering commercial-grade lithium-ion cells, as evidenced by their 50 MWh commercial cell line. He expressed pride and motivation in receiving BIS certification for their cells, emphasizing their commitment to leading in cell innovation, characterization, and the development of unique cell chemistries suitable for tropical climates, with a dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation.

Moreover, the BIS approval also confirms the rapid charging capabilities of LTO batteries, setting the stage for faster charging infrastructure and enhanced convenience for users.
