SIAM’s Green Plate EV Rally spotlights India’s rapidly growing EV capabilities, heralding a brighter, eco-conscious transportation future.

At the iconic Pragati Maidan, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in a grand collaboration with the Ministry of Heavy Industries, unveiled their vision for India’s sustainable transport future. Flagged off by Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey, the ‘Green Plate EV Rally’ showcased over 100 state-of-the-art electric vehicles. This landmark event, emphasizing SIAM’s dedication to EV adoption, aims to strengthen consumer trust and highlight India’s increasing prowess in eco-friendly vehicle development.

SIAM, the leading representative of India’s automobile manufacturers, isn’t just talking the talk; they’re driving the drive. The rally saw an impressive array of electric 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, cars, and buses, illuminating the industry’s advancements over recent years.

The ceremony was graced by industry stalwarts, including Kamran Rizvi (Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries) and Vinod Aggarwal (President of SIAM). Their presence underscores the significant alliance between governmental bodies and industry leaders, focusing on a unified vision for India’s green mobility.

Pandey voiced optimism, stating, “With 9.4 lakh EVs on Indian roads and growth from 0.13% to 4.3%, India is poised to become a major battery hub.” He lauded SIAM for championing this green transformation.

Echoing this sentiment, Rizvi mentioned, “EVs are no longer just a trend but a widely accepted reality.” He emphasized the promising trajectory, highlighting ambitious goals: 60-70% electric two-wheelers by 2030 and an exponential rise in electric car sales.

Aggarwal spotlighted the industry’s relentless pursuit of sustainability. He mentioned, “India’s e-mobility shift is picking pace, and with SIAM’s dedication, the future looks electric!”

In conclusion, this rally isn’t merely an event; it’s a testament to India’s commitment to a green, sustainable future. As industry bigwigs and government figures unite, the road ahead is not only electric but also promising.
