The solar REC project has been commissioned in three different capacities.
Rajasthan is undoubtedly one of the more pro-active states in the country, when it comes to setting up solar power hub, that enables solar power generation for the region in abundance. Yet, in another feat achieved by the state, the country’s largest solar REC project has been installed for the capacity of 33 MW by Giriraj Enterprises.
According to reports, the project is registered under the REC registry as three separate projects of 11 MW, 19 MW and a smaller 3 MW capacity.
Giriraj Enterprises had recently diversified its business interests and forayed into solar sector. The company had appointed Sterling and Wilson as the EPC contractor for the project, who are also responsible for carrying out operation and maintenance activities of the project.
The project developers have reportedly entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the local distribution company in Rajasthan, which has been signed at the Average Pooled Purchase Cost of power paid by the Discom. It is said that the company will avail RECs over and above the PPA.
The project estimates an average of 53,000 RECs per annum and is likely to boost the solar REC supply in the market.
