Altair: Ravi Kunju Becomes Chief Product & Strategy Officer

  • Kunju earlier served as Altair’s senior vice president of business strategy across all business lines
  • Kunju is a mechanical engineer, who studied at Osmania University and Wayne State University
  • Later, he did an MBA from the Ross School of Business

A global leader in computational science and artificial intelligence (AI), Altair recently announced the name of Ravi Kunju as its chief product and strategy officer. The company statement said that Kunju will be responsible for the strategy and vision of Altair products, which includes facilitating the development, sales, pricing, and marketing of the solutions for industry verticals and business lines.

The founder and CEO of Altair, James R. Scapa commented: “For nearly 25 years, Ravi has been an indispensable member in so many areas of our organization, and I am certain that he will continue to play a vital role in this new position.”

He further added, “As we compete fiercely across the globe, it is imperative to go to market with strategic solutions that help customers solve their toughest problems. We need to keep our foot on the pedal in thoughtful innovation that moves the needle and solves problems that might not even exist yet.”

On the educational front, Kunju studied mechanical engineering at Osmania University in Hyderabad. He mastered the same stream from Wayne State University and went on to do an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

It is noteworthy that before this promotion, Mr Kunju served Altair in the following roles: Senior VP of business strategy (across all business lines), VP of strategy for enterprise computing, MD of enterprise computing for the Americas region, and MD of the U.S. North Central region.
