AEG Power Solutions has inaugurated its new 400 megawatt (MW) solar inverter factory in Bengaluru. While 40 people have already been hired, it is expected that a total of 150 jobs will be created.
According to an official spokesperson, the production has already begun on AEG’s PV.250 and PV.500 solar inverter series at the 80,000 square foot facility, which was built with the help of the company’s German subsidiary in Belecke/Warstein. While the annual peak load capacity is 400 MW, this can later be ramped up to 1,000 MW. The next phase of expansion will see the production of uninterruptible power supplies. Manufacture on the company’s Protect Blue product, which is more specifically designed for Data and IT applications, is expected to start in the second quarter of 2012.
“The growing energy demand of the country causes also a higher demand for products, which guarantee an uninterruptible power supply and create a reliable infrastructure for industrial power users. AEG PS offers a consistent product portfolio covering all these demands perfectly,” commented Sridhar Murthy, MD of AEG PS in India.
