Electric mobility platform MoEVing has inaugurated what it calls ‘India’s first electric vehicle charging facility’ in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru.

Spread across 12,000 sq ft, the charging facility is packed with high volume electric vehicle (EV) charging points, both fast and slow charging, EV battery swapping stations, EV maintenance stations and EV experience and learning center.

Vikash Mishra, CEO and co-founder, MoEVing, said, “We have been bullish about accelerating EV adoption. With the launch of our Yeshwanthpur facility, we wish to adopt an integrated and interoperable approach to EV charging and maintenance with the goal to power all charging hubs through clean energy sources.”

Rajender Kataria, Principal Secretary, Transport, Government of Karnataka, who attended the opening ceremony said, “Reduction of transport-related pollution is extremely important for the government. We have taken several initiatives to accelerate the offtake of non-polluting vehicles. The need of the hour is adopting an ecosystem approach, having the whole electric vehicle value chain working together in synergy.”

“By deploying EVs in Bengaluru at this scale, providing access to agnostic charging infrastructure that can be used by all for all kinds of electric vehicles, we are making Bengaluru a cleaner city for the next generation,” he added.

In order to support the fast-growing electric mobility sector, the national and state governments are committed to promoting and developing renewable energy and electric vehicle infrastructure, ensuring that everyone has access to healthier air, Kataria said.

MoEVing is present in 11 cities in the country. It has established 300-plus charging points across 40 charging spaces, either of MoEVing or of network collaboration partners, the company said in a media release.
