Hemant Mallapur Is Now VP Of Tejas Networks

Tejas Networks has appointed Hemant Mallapur as Vice President of its Research and Development team. Previously, he was Co-founder and Executive VP of Engineering at Saankhya Labs.

This is not a job change as majority of Saankhya Labs was acquired by Tejas Networks in July 2022. Mallapur, in a social media post, noted, “This is is not a job switch as Saankhya Labs is a subsidiary of Tejas Networks.”

Apart from Tejas Networks, he has also worked with Genesis Microchip, Sage Inc, and Synopsys. Saankhya is known for its IPR portfolio and 73 international patents (41 granted, 32 filed). It operates in the field of software defined radios (SDR), powered by its own SDR chipsets.

Tejas Networks move to acquire the company has been a part of its strategy to create a global telecom equipment company from India.

Sanjay Nayak, CEO & MD of Tejas Network, at the time of acquisition had said the Saankhya’s products would complement Tejas Networks ‘existing 4G/5G Radio Access Network (RAN) products, and positions us well for the emerging opportunities in the O-RAN and 5G Broadcast space.
