Electronics Brand boAt Ropes In Shashwat Singh As CIO

Indian lifestyle electronics brand boAt has reportedly hired Shashwat Singh as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). 

Citing sources, a report by The Economic Times stated that Singh, who served as Supply Chain Technology Leader at consumer products company Kimberly Clark prior to joining boAt, took charge in his new role on May 14. 

Singh is a digital evangelist and globally renowned technology leader, added the report. He has over 15 years of experience in leading technology and digital at organisations such as Kimberly Clark, Unilever, and Asian Paints. He holds a B.Tech degree in IT from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology and has completed MBA-General from IIT Kharagpur.

Singh will be reporting to Vivek Gambhir, CEO, boAt. He will lead the Digital and IT team and will work on expanding it. He will also be responsible for setting up a scalable, robust, and secure IT landscape.

Founded by Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta, boAt came into the market with affordable, durable, and modern technology-based products such as earphones, headphones stereos, travel chargers, and premium rugged cables, and is one of the leading electronics brands worldwide. Earlier this year, the company had secured funding from Qualcomm Ventures and an affiliate of Warburg Pincus.
