Electronics For You spoke with Mr Sesha Shahi, GW Instek India LLP’s National Sales Manager, to know more about the company’s India offerings, vision and plans for the future.


Q. Since when has Good Will Instruments been in business?

A. Good Will Instrument Co Ltd, aka GW Intek, was founded in 1975. GW Instek began as a manufacturer of power supplies and expanded into the development of high precision electronic test and measurement instruments.

GW Instek is headed by C C Lin, who is our Group Chairman.

Q. How do you define your product category to customers?

 

A. Our products are part of the electronic test and measurement industry with an excellent reputation for quality, reliability, affordable prices and ease of use.

  • Electronic Test & Measurement Instruments
    Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Sources, AC / DC Power Supplies, DC Electronic Loads, Digital Multimeters, LCR Meters, Safety Testers, Other Meters, and Accessories.
  • Video surveillance products
    Surveillance Systems, Public Broadcasting Systems, Video Monitoring Systems.
  • Environment Test Business
    Environmental Testing Equipment, Constant Temperature and Humidity Equipment, Vibration Test Equipment, Hot and Cold Impact Testing Machines.

Q. What is the USP (unique strength) of your products?

A. What makes our products attractive to our customers over others is the total cost per ownership. GW Instek squeezes out the best quality from the lowest unit cost for its clients.

Q. What are the latest product offerings?

A. GW Instek has more than 300 product items, ranging from oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal sources, basic test & measurement instruments

Q. Why do you think this product is the right match for the Indian market?

A. The education, industrial and government segments in India look for high quality, economical measurement solutions and these can be fulfilled by Good Will Instruments. We have developed a solid brand image and reputation for reliability, integrity and innovation.

Q. Who are your ideal B2B customers?

A. We cater to Tier 1 education institutes, industrial and government customers.

Q. What percentage of your annual revenue is for exports (outside Taiwan & Mainland China)? Which are the countries you are exporting to?

A. Exports form more than 50 per cent of our total revenue. We also have subsidiaries in mainland China, America, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Europe, and India, with our products being sold to more than 80 countries worldwide.

Q. How long have you been doing business with India? How has your experience been?

A. GW Instek India LLP was incorporated on 22 May, 2019. We have been doing business in India for over 2 decades. India holds a good potential for Test & Measurement and our decision to establish the India subsidiary is solely driven by this fact.

Q. Are you looking for agents (distributors, channel partners, etc) in India? Those interested in being your agent—whom should they contact and what details should they provide?

Q. What is your target of growth in the near future and on global scale, where does India feature in your plans?

A. India holds a key place in our global plans owing to the developments and the government initiatives that promise potential growth for the T&M industry.

Q. Any special packages or offers planned for Indian agents or B2B customers?

A. We want our partners/distributors to earn and grow with us and hence have designed the model that provides adequate compensation for our partners’ efforts.
