Axis Communications introduced what it claims is the world’s smallest high definition television (HDTV) pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) camera. The Axis M50 camera is designed to remotely monitor indoor areas such as stores, banks, hotels, offices, lobbies, etc. The USP of the camera is its sleek and compact design (13 cm wide and 5.6 cm high) with high quality 360 degree surveillance in HDTV, thus enabling a clear and big picture, apart from audio detection that allows monitoring for unusual noises, occurrence of which triggers a security alarm. The camera also enables a user to monitor a site seamlessly from a remote location.

Sparsh launched its OmniSurv IP camera (the A and S series) along with the eYe and the Elegant series of network digital video recorders (DVR). This solution offers superior low light performance, which is open network video interface forum (ONVIF) compliant. It can provide real time quality video on any kind of network, ranging from a high bit-rate LAN environment to low bit-rate Internet and mobile networks. This camera can monitor at all times, anywhere.

Honeywell also showcased an innovative end to end IP security management platform—the Honeywell Universal Surveillance (HUS) 4.0. This platform is designed for large scale networks with multi-level management. This highly reliable camera is unique as it integrates the analogue matrix, a DVR, streamer, an intrusion detection system, and access control into one powerful security solution.

Bosch Security Systems showcased its innovative HD total video IP solution, which integrates both HD and standard definition (SD) devices. All video appliances can be operated using one interface, and all its components are designed specifically for HD technology.

Latest in access control devices

HID Global, a manufacturer of secure identity solutions, unveiled its next generation iCLASS SIO enabled (SE) access control platform. This goes beyond the traditional smart card readers as it offers secure, standards based technology with a flexible identity data structure based on secure identity object (SIO). The standards used in the system support any data, including data for access control, biometrics, vending, time and attendance, etc. These mini-sized readers are best suited for mullion mounted door installations.

Securico Electronics India introduced its latest Slimline video door phones (VDP). This hands free, coloured VDP with four monitors and two cameras helps in capturing the image of the person who presses the door bell. Hence, in the absence of the host, this VDP gives the entire details of a visitor, by recording and storing the image.
