He further pointed out that at present India import crude oil and electronic goods. India is ahead in software but not in hardware. Thus, India is planning to set up an electronics zone in the DMIC for which the work has been progressing at a satisfactory pace. He also mentioned that he is making efforts to bring in some multinational electronic firms in DMIC.

While referring to the conference and the exhibition organised by the ABBM, he said that this is an indication of growth and growing entrepreneurship trend among different communities. He said that the state government was already making efforts to boost industrial sector.

Desai pointed out that Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray too had dreamt that youth of Maharashtra should come forward and become entrepreneurs. He wanted youths to become job givers, instead of job seekers.

Desai said that the state government was also planning to focus on skill development. He referred to an industrial survey, saying that out of 100 new entrepreneurs just 30 per cent found to have succeeded in the long run while 70 per cent drop out of the race due to different reasons.

He urged the Brahmodyog organisers as well as other industries association to work out ways to help such youngsters to grow and carve a place for them in the field.
