Western India’s only electronics expo being held in Mumbai

Thursday, November 27, 2014: It’s that time of the year when electronics businesses from Western Indian cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Ahmadabad, Baroda and Indore can come together to network with each other and the rest of India. Western India’s only electronics expo, Electronics For You Expo Western India 2014, began yesterday at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. The three-day expo, is targeted to electronics manufacturing companies, design engineers, traders and companies with innovative electronic products.

Taking the ‘Make In India’ theme, promoted by the Indian government, forward, the second edition of Electronics For You Expo Western India, provides an apt platform to the electronics industry for exploring manufacturing possibilities. India’s electronic industry in the western region is one of the fastest growing market in India. It has been growing fast in terms of electronics manufacturing and is a clear leader in the trading of electronic components. Sharing his thoughts about the show, Ramesh Chopra, executive chairman, Electronics For You group said, “The EFY Expo has been providing the industry with a stable platform for the last four years & now, the EFY Expo – Western India Edition is all set to provide the western electronics industry with a platform to grow.”

The first edition of the expo, that happened last year was a great success. With participation from 57 exhibitors, the expo attracted over five thousand visitors during the three-days. Participating exhibitors were extremely satisfied with the amazing response from the visitors. The Expo covered the entire ecosystem of electronics under one roof. “The successful debut of the EFY Expo Western India 2013 edition has given us confidence. It was an enabling platform for both suppliers and customers,” said Sujata Soparkar, managing director, Intron.

Visitors and exhibitors were also happy about the special services provided at the expo like the VIP lounge, a dedicated meeting area, free Internet access, free conferences, etc. The first 500 business visitors were also given a special gift—a free Electronics Yellow Pages worth Rs 1000.

“The EFY Expo Western India 2013 gave us a good platform and opportunity to showcase our products and meet potential customers,” said Kushal Panchal, manager-sales, CSIL. The expo featured a diverse and comprehensive product range. The event witnessed the participation of manufacturers and service providers in the field of components, motors/drives, cables, assemblies and subsystems, ED/EDA, T&M technology, displays and power supplies.

In the fields of production equipment, the technologies on display were for packaging, material processing, manufacturing equipment and logistics for PCBs, cable processing, soldering, etc. With extensive publicity of the exceeded all expectations. Keeping in mind the current momentum in the electronics industry, an even better response is expected this year. Here’s a quick look at the fact sheet of the show:
