Wednesday, July 16, 2014: Vizag Development Council vice president O. Naresh Kumar has asked for special funding for setting up Electronic Manufacturing Cluster at Jagannadhapuram village in Parawada Mandal.
He added that the project was sanctioned last year for which APIIC had identified 100 acre survey number 26 and project was supposed to receive $18.95 million. According to him, EMCS (Electronic Manufacturing Cluster Scheme) notified in 2012 would extend support to develop infrastructure for both Greenfield and Brownfield units.
He said that a special purpose vehicle (SPV) should be formed to implement such schemes. This SPV would take care of business development, operations and maintenance, Under central govt initiative, broadband connection was provided to all the panchayats in Parawada Mandal. Kumar said that the proposals for assistance under EMCS would soon be cleared after proper considerations.
