Chipmaker STMicroelectronics has announced a major reorganisation into two product groups focused on analog products and digital ICs and microcontrollers, effective from February 5, 2024.

As a consequence of the reorganisation, Marco Monti, the former President of the Automotive and Discrete Product Group, would be departing from STMicroelectronics.

The restructuring involves two product groups: APMS (Analog, Power & Discrete, MEMS and Sensors) and MDRF (Microcontrollers, Digital ICs and RF products). The company emphasised that the move was focused on enhancing product development, innovation, and efficiency.

The APMS product group will be divided into two segments — analog products, including smart power solutions for automotive, MEMS and sensors (AM&S) and its power and discrete product lines including silicon carbide products (P&D). The group will be led by executive committee member and president Marco Cassis.

The MDRF product group will also be divided into two segments —- digital ICs and RF products, ADAS and Infotainment ICs (D&RF) and microcontrollers, including automotive microcontrollers. The group will be led by executive committee member and president Remi El-Ouazzane.

The company will also introduce a new application marketing strategy, led by Jerome Roux, ST President, and member of the Executive Committee, to provide end-to-end system solutions focused on Automotive, Industrial Power and Energy, Industrial Automation, IoT and AI, Personal Electronics, Communication Equipment, and Computer Peripherals.

Commenting on the announcements, Jean-Marc Chery, President and CEO of STMicroelectronics, said, “This is an important step in the development of our established strategy, in line with our value proposition to all stakeholders and with the business and financial ambitions we set back in 2022.”

The company also announced its ambition to achieve carbon neutrality on scope 1 and 2 and partially on scope 3 by 2027.
