‘Light India’ event unveils latest technologies in LED lighting industry

Light India 2014 - Leading Lighting Exhibition, Lighting ...Wednesday, September 24, 2014: Consumers’ fondness for CFLs is a well-known fact, but the trends are going to change very soon. With the introduction of LED lighting, more energy efficient and sustainable lighting solutions are coming on the board. Light India, the recently concluded trade fair, focused on quality, energy efficiency and innovation in lighting technologies.

The dynamic aspects of the lighting industry in the country came to the forefront with the second edition of Light India. More than 200 established brands took part in the fair, like Anchor Electricals, Bajaj Electricals Ltd, Philips Lighting India, Crompton Greaves Ltd, Orient Electricals, Havells India Ltd and more. All the companies used this opportunity to showcase their latest technologies for the entire target industry, including government bodies.

Paritosh Mehra from Havells Lighting, while talking to Metrolife, said that not many people are still aware about LED lights and its benefits. Commercial and international operations head, S Narayanan informed, LED lights have the efficiency of saving around 85 per cent of energy and they don’t release UV rays. Philips also unveiled their new lighting systems which are designed in a more ecological way. Philips Lighting India’s lighting controls division’s business head Indranil Goswami said that his company is trying to bring in a change in the lighting sector in India through connected LED lighting.

Philips HUE was the most interesting latest technology by Philips which was also showcased at the event. This technology can be operated through an iPhone app and it’s a three-set lighting. The colours can be changed by the app. The colours of the light change as per weather situations. The expo also saw presence of the first LED light manufacturer in India, NTL Lemnis India Pvt Ltd.
