Tuesday, July 23, 2013: Having contributed immensely to the Indian electronics industry for over 25 years, C S Rao (1927-2013), founder and ex CMD of SCL passed away on Sunday (July 21). He was an aeronautical engineer from Colorado University. Having worked in various prestigious organisations including Cessna Aircraft Company (an American general aviation aircraft manufacturing corporation), Bombardier (in Canada) and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), he started his own venture by establishing Sulakshana Cicuits Ltd in Hyderabad in 1988, with the objective of bringing international technology to India. Spread over five acres of land, SCL manufactures double sided and multilayer PCBs of high quality in medium to high volumes.
C S Rao is survived by his wife, Durga Rao, the current managing director, his son Krishna Rao, the current chairman of SCL and two sons and one daughter settled in US.
