This strategic alliance adopts an innovative business model, which utilizes the environmental benefits from the financed projects to help Apple offset emissions from its corporate operations within India. According to an announcement on the Apple newsroom, the initiative supports the company’s operations, including its offices and two retail stores in India, aligning with Apple’s 2030 climate goal. Lisa Jackson, Apple’s Vice President of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, emphasized the importance of clean energy and water for building a sustainable business and community.

The venture not only propels India towards its renewable energy targets but also highlights the role of corporations in driving economic growth through sustainable initiatives. CleanMax, with a robust portfolio of 2GW operating renewable assets and over 750 clients across various industries, continues to be pivotal in helping Asian corporations achieve their sustainability goals. Through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions, CleanMax is committed to reducing environmental footprints and fostering long-term sustainability and economic growth.

This partnership between Apple and CleanMax serves as a testament to the potential of cross-sector collaborations in addressing environmental challenges, showcasing a model for integrating economic and sustainable development.

Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director of CleanMax, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, citing it as a milestone in their mission to become a sustainability partner for corporations. He noted the growing interest from other consumer brands in similar ventures, reflecting a broader shift towards sustainable business practices.
