The fourth China Sourcing Fairs opened reacently at the Bombay Exhibition Center in Mumbai.
The co-located events covered Electronics & Components, Security Products, Home Products, Gifts & Premiums, Hardware & Building Materials and Bathroom Products. Most exhibitors were from mainland China, with others from Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and the Philippines. Buyers pre-registered to attend the Fairs include Aditya Birla Retail, Globus Stores, Hindustan Petroleum, Home Solutions Retail, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Jaipan Industries, Metro Cash & Carry India, Reliance Industries, Shoppers Stop, Tata Steel, Tesco, Voltas, Wipro Yardley and Woolworths.
“Sino-Indian trade is booming,” said Tommy Wong, president of Global Sources Exhibitions. “India’s trade with mainland China is expected to reach $70 billion this year. The two countries are hoping to scale it up to $100 billion by 2015. Global Sources is focused on helping to build relationships between buyers and suppliers in both countries, with our China Sourcing Fairs in Mumbai as well as our India Sourcing Fairs in Hong Kong.
“The Mumbai events provide an ideal platform for China suppliers to enter the booming Indian market and for local buyers to find quality China products to boost their profits and market share.”
Last year, nearly 11,000 buyers attended the Fairs to conduct business with hundreds of Greater China suppliers.
