This signifies a crucial turning point in Indian defence technology, as it involves live demonstrations for government officials and tri-service members, highlighting the revolutionary potential of autonomous anti-drone defence systems in reshaping security protocols.

Based in Hyderabad, Grene Robotics has commenced demonstrating its anti-drone system, Indrajaal, the World’s only Autonomous Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS). This technology represents a significant leap forward in security measures, providing comprehensive protection against all classifications of drones, from micro to extra-large, setting a global precedent.

The exclusive unveiling ceremony occurred in the presence of the Honorable Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.), who hailed Indrajaal as a transformative advancement in defence technology. He emphasized its importance in safeguarding the nation against the increasing drone threat, which poses significant challenges to defence, public infrastructure, and private sectors. It operates on a unique LEGO block-like combination mechanism, incorporating 12 layers of technology powered by artificial intelligence. This system’s capabilities include real-time threat detection, identification, classification, tracking, and rapid neutralization, making it a formidable defence tool. With a 360-degree protection radius, it can cover vast areas spanning up to 4000 sq. km, offering a comprehensive framework to defend against all types of autonomous drones, including loitering munitions, swarm drones, smart bombs, and more.

In recent years, India has faced a growing drone threat, including attempts to drop weapons, narcotics, and money into the country. The urgency of countering these threats is underscored by the alarming increase in drone-based weapon deliveries, with nearly 200 cases reported in 2023 alone. Existing point defence-based anti-UAV systems are limited in their effectiveness, relying on physical sighting and unable to protect large areas or critical regions. It addresses these limitations by integrating 12 proprietary technologies into a comprehensive network.

Wg Cdr MVN Sai (Retd.), Director of Grene Robotics & Co-Founder of Indrajaal, expressed confidence in the system’s capabilities, emphasizing its role in combating modern threats. Kiran Raju, Founder & CEO of Grene Robotics, lauded Indrajaal as a cornerstone product for India’s defence, reflecting the company’s commitment to fortifying the nation against evolving security challenges. The demonstration is a significant milestone in autonomous defence solutions, promising enhanced national security and resilience against the escalating drone threat. This innovation represents a testament to Indian technological prowess and its ability to adapt to the evolving landscape of security challenges.
