Cadence’s annual user conference CDNLive 2013 brings together semiconductor industry to share best practices

Friday, October 11, 2013: Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS), a leader in global electronic design innovation, successfully concluded its annual conference CDNLive India 2013 in Bangalore. Spread over two days, October 9 and 10, the conference was attended by over 1,100 delegates from across the semiconductor industry spectrum. The winners of the CDNLive India 2013 Best Paper Awards were announced at the event.

The annual conference is a prestigious platform that brings together subject matter experts and semiconductor designers to network and share best practices with a view to solving critical design and verification issues and understanding the latest solutions in low power, mixed-signal and advanced node design.

Cadence president and CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, delivered a keynote on “Exciting Opportunities for Great New Products,” highlighting key strategic developments that have impacted the growth of the global EDA and semiconductor industry. The guest keynote was delivered by Guruswamy Ganesh, vice president, Bangalore Design Center, SanDisk, speaking on “Meeting the Growing Demands for Storage in the Digital Universe.”

Jaswinder Ahuja, corporate vice president and managing director of Cadence Design Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd., said, “CDNLive India provides a forum to exchange ideas, network with partners and customers, and learn best practices from peers. The growth of the conference in terms of number of attendees and quality of papers presented is a testament to the cutting-edge work being done from India.”

This year’s program featured five keynote addresses and 54 technical sessions over seven parallel tracks by companies such as Analog Devices, ARM, Covidien, Freescale, Hyundai Mobis, IBM, Ineda Systems, LSI, Megachips Corporation, NXP, Open-Silicon, PMC-Sierra, SanDisk, Schneider Electric, Sienna Ecad, SilabTech, SmartPlay Technologies, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, and Wipro. Other features included a customer panel discussion in the Digital Implementation track; a Signoff Theater showcasing demos and presentations about Cadence’s recently announced TempusT solution; and several partner and sponsor booths in the Designer Expo exhibition area.
