TTL’s sales and service staff would help Fluke become a leader in the Indian test and measurement market

US based Fluke Corporation, a global leader in portable electronic test and measurement (T&M) technology, has acquired Mumbai based TTL Technologies Pvt Ltd, which had represented Fluke in India since 2001 as its master distributor.

The acquisition, which involved an undisclosed sum, will benefit Fluke as now it can completely capitalise on TTL’s many years of experience in the Indian T&M market, its national distribution network, its strong customer base, and accredited calibration labs. “These assets, when combined with Fluke’s technological innovation, manufacturing excellence and world class business processes, will do wonders,” shared Peter Van Den Broek, president, emerging markets, Fluke Corporation.

Fluke’s T&M products are being used in the Indian transportation, defence and manufacturing industries. They are also used in the natural gas, power generation, transmission and distribution, railways, basic metals, pharmaceutical, automotive, capital goods and electronics R&D sectors, as well as by the major calibration labs.

“TTL has been a great partner and now, together, we will substantially increase our overall customer offerings. This agreement reinforces our commitment to our customers in India and positions us for rapid growth in an important market,” said Peter Van Den Broek.

Reactions from TTL

TTL, which had an annual revenue of Rs 39 million in 2009-2010, will also benefit from the deal. “TTL’s acquisition by Fluke is a huge step forward. We will utilise this new strength to widen and deepen our reach to customers across India, creating tremendous excitement and growth,” said Joey Joseph, CEO and managing director, TTL Technologies, who has been a part of TTL right from its inception in 1982 and has been instrumental in the strategic planning and business development of TTL. “Customers can look forward to a higher level of access to Fluke technology and support,” he added.

TTL’s businesses and employees will be integrated into the Fluke organisation. The company confirmed that currently it has no plans for a change among employees or in the location of its branches and facility. “Our top priority is our customers and meeting their needs, and our goal is for the transition to be as seamless as possible,” said Van Den Broek.

TTL started off as an import trading division within Aplab Ltd, a manufacturer of T&M instruments based out of Thane. The company was a pan-India distributor of measurement tools manufactured by Fluke, Ametek Programmable Power, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Gigatronics, Microfluidics and Voltech Instruments. Now, post acquisition, these operations will be undertaken by Fluke Corporation.

This has been Fluke’s second acquisition in a month, as it has also taken over Martel Electronics Corporation, a US-based manufacturer of electronic test tools and OEM products.
