ujaasSaturday, August 23, 2014: Ujaas Energy Limited has announced that they will commission the first grid for roof-top solar PV power plant in Uttar Pradesh next, in Noida and Greater Noida. Earlier they have successfully donw the job, along with facility of bi-directional metering and net-metering, in Hyderabad and Odisha.

The Uttar Pradesh plants are executed under the allocation made from SECI-Phase-II and under JNNSM. The company has already installed and commissioned 5 x 100 KW grid which has connected roof-top solar PV power plant for the head quarters of Navaratna PSU NFL (National Fertilizers Limited), a leading mall Ansal Plaza, Maha ratna PSU NTPC and leading tobacco product manufacturer Baba Global in Noida/Greater Noida. Now a couple of more grid connected solar plants will be commissioned next with the facility of bi-directional metering in other UP cities like Lucknow, Kanpur and more.

Joint managing director of the company, Vikalp Mundra, happily shared that these plants with all the facilities will bring green revolution in UP, as these plants are grid interactive and excess production will not get wasted as it will be exported to the grid and can be reserved for future consumption. These projects are also battery less which means they do not cost anything for maintenance and also come out as highly cost-effective. Mundra also thanked the renewable energy department of the state for their active support and encouragement. Further he went on thanking some other personalities and entities like principal secretary of Additional Energy Sources Jivesh Nandan, principal secretary energy Sanjay Agrawal, Sanjay Kr. Singh, entire team of UPPCL and UPNEDA and also Noida Power Corporation Limited.

Uttar Pradesh, being a big state with large industries and commercial places, still suffers from huge power crisis. If all the major establishments in the state get power from these solar plants then a major crisis can be addressed easily and masses will also receive power utilities more effectively. Mundra also said that the company is presently executing around 1000KWs of roof-top projects in UP and almost similar capacities in other states too. They are hoping to spread the company’s initiatives across the country. Ujaas Energy is mostly known because they installed the first solar power plant under REC mechanism in the country and they also own and operate large solar parks.
