Rays Power Infra bags contract to build solar project in Karnataka

grid-solarpowerSaturday, August 16, 2014: Rays Power Infra has announced that another solar power project is getting commissioned by this Rajasthan based enterprise and this 5 MW project will be set up in Karnataka’s Bijapur district. The project will cost Rs 330 million and the annual output from this project is estimated as 9 million KWH per year. The power generated, will be supplied to HESCOM in Karnataka, and the tariff rate will be fixed at Rs 8.5 per unit.

Rays Power Infra also provides a fully-packed solution for establishing solar power projects while the scope of work includes creating designs, engineering, procuring materials, installation process and also commissioning of the power plant. Thin film solar panels will be provided with the solar plant and these panels come from NEX Power in Taiwan. These panels also consist of highly efficient Helios inverter-transformers from Germany.

Rays Power Infra’s operations director Ketan Mehta said, “Humanity today has two major challenges in front – meeting the global energy need and finding the perfect solution to global warming. With the global economic equation fast changing and put to it the booming world population, the demand for alternative source of energy and particularly “solar power” is on the rise. This project will set up a bench mark for upcoming 500 MW solar bids in Karnataka in which we will participate for capacities up to 100 MW with various investors & Corporates. We will also launch a new solar park in Karnataka very soon.”

Head for South operations, Sanjay Gupta, added to that, “The completion of the project marks our presence in four states in India and will be expanded to another three states by the end of the year. We are now a pan India solar EPC Company and looking forward to expand our operations in overseas as well.”
