Erweis launches its latest cost-effective and internet enabled biometric handheld device

erweisMonday, March 24, 2014: Bengaluru-based company Erweis recently launched its latest cost-effective and internet enabled Biometric Mobile handheld compact terminal, eBiosk – H01. The portable device is designed to cater to various identity management needs. It is equipped with Lumidigm’s multi spectral M – Series fingerprint sensor which virtually eliminates the common performance problems experienced when using conventional fingerprint sensors, like failure to enroll, high false reject rates and poor performance on outdoor environments.

eBiosk H01 terminals are easy to own, instantly deployable, Plug & Play devices, which can seamlessly synchronize with web-based software. The devices can also be installed in different branch locations or departments of an enterprise, thus enabling the central monitoring system. Key features of eBiosk H01 are:

It captures fingerprints, photo, user data & RF Card (prox or mifare)

Connectivity using USB, TCP/IP or GPRS

Superb algorithm (developed in-house) & Spoof detection

LAN/WAN based web Interface

Battery longevity (6-8 hrs)

eBiosk H01 devices are remotely connected to server using TCP/IP or GPRS. Its data transfer logic uses XML protocols with strong encryption algorithm to ensure for safer communication. With such capability these devices can be used in various domains namely:

1. Civil ID – Verify citizens in large-scale government identity projects with biometrics, Border security and immigration

2. Healthcare – to ensure 100% patient accuracy, safeguard against data breaches, eliminate the chances of data mix up with another patient’s records, claims settlement

3. Financial Inclusion – Deliver secure and affordable financial services to the intended population with biometrics

4. Public Distribution – Deliver government goods and services to intended recipients with biometric authentication

5. Remote Workforce Attendance Management of companies, Factories, Government Organizations, retail companies etc.

6. Mobile identification (MID) to help police and law enforcement agencies to identify individuals by their fingerprints and photographs more quickly.
