February 24, 2015: Delhi University, one of India’s largest universities for higher education, has announced the setting up of Electropreneur Park. Set up in the South Campus of the university, the park will be operational from next month and will focus on supporting start ups in electronics design and manufacturing.
The incubator has been set up by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and the India Electronics and Semi Conductors Association (IESA), with an investment of Rs 210 million.
The fundings for projects will be provided by government through STPI, thus bridging the gap between industry developments and educational institutions and also providing a platform to young entrepreneurs.
For the incubator project, along with IESA, Cybermedia India Ltd will also be supporting the execution. Moreover while STPI will look after the financial and funding area, IESA and CMIL will be ensuring industry connect, mentoring, promotion and technical know-how.
